Who We Are

Segyu Gaden Buddhist Society

Segyu Gaden Buddhist Society (SGB Society) is a registered organisation under the Registrar of Societies (ROS) in Malaysia. We are dedicated to supporting Segyu Gaden Phodrang Monastery and promoting the authentic teachings of Tibetan Buddhism in Malaysia and Singapore.

Our society serves as the local bridge between devotees in Southeast Asia and the monastery, organising teachings, pujas, community events, and facilitating puja request services for those seeking spiritual support.

Segyu Gaden Phodrang Monastery is one of the most significant tantric monasteries within the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. “Segyu” refers to the Lower Tantric College, responsible for preserving and transmitting the sacred tantric practices and rituals.

The monastery maintains an unbroken lineage of tantric teachings passed down from generation to generation since 1432. The monks undergo rigorous training in Buddhist philosophy, meditation, and the intricate rituals of Vajrayana Buddhism.
